Hello!

Could you reveal more details about encryption algorithm used
in ICEEncrypt program? Do you still want to place it in public domain?

And this is my list of possible improvements for ICEEncrypt:

- Encrypt single files, not only directories.
- Encrypt many files to one encrypted file (like archive).
- Add optional compression before encryption (for example, ZLib).
- Optionally store encrypted filenames in encrypted files, and name encrypted files randomly.
- Do not use any constant file headers, markers, "magic bytes" - to make
encrypted file undistinguishable from random data.

Kind regards,

gmyxomos

ICE Encrypt use similar transformation to some transformations applied in Galua fields. However, instead of Gaula field using new kind of fields. Despite its simplicity ICE Encrypt based on a serious mathematics.

It has been many years since the appearance of ICE Encrypt. But so far none of the symmetric algorithm is not able to overcome even for 1024 bit barrier. Modern classical methods of constructing symmetric algorithms can not be used to create algorithms for variable-length block.

No, but it's not final decision.

Supported in command line mode. However in this is mode using key files instead of password.

Better to use any external archiver (ZIP, RAR, 7z) for this is task.

It's easy to add. But using magic header it's easy to identify in any file browser encrypted file.

I understand why you asking about removing any constant magic bytes. You want to hide what file was encrypted.

Main problem what this is file format will be incompatible with current ICE Encrypt format. So may be better for this is task to create separated version ICE Encrypt.
