I down loaded this program thinking it helped fix corrupted files. It may do that I don't know because I have no clue how to use it. And to start with I don't know what an ecc file is. Or what to do with them if I have them. I am dealing with file corruption on my hard drive and have tried down loading "fixes" from several sites who say they are free only to find out they want me to pay after I've down loaded the scan. Ranging from 40-200.00. its crazy. Anyone with helpful info.. please feel free to email me at princess071979@hotmail.com. I'm in agony. I should also mention I am using win98 os.

ICE ECC can fix corrupted files if for this is files was created .ecc files. As i understand, you need to recover corrupted HDD. For this is tasks i can recommend: R-Studio or GetDataBack.
